ITIL is the most popular, oft-quoted and implemented best practices framework of choice for managing IT Infrastructure. The practices are increasingly being looked at when developing processess for Application and Business Process management services as well.
Often times when companies look to outsource, one of the major concerns put forth is the quality of people replacing the current team.
However, oftentimes the customer preceives that the provider is not giving them the people with the right skills to replace the existing team.
There are ofcource multitude of reasons for the expectation mismatch, but we will discuss what I term as the Superstar Conundrum.
Traditionally Indian Outsourcing companies have been categorized as Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.
These categorizations have always been subjective and had typically been based on Company's Revenue, Number of Employees, Global Presence etc.
Such parameters worked may be 5 years earlier, but today the lines are blurred. Beyond the big three of Infosys, TCS and Wipro who probably deserve a separate category; the organizations fall into similar buckets.

Drivers: These components are what define the overall engagement goals. The drivers as listed below form the foundation of an outsourcing engagement and complete alignment to the drivers are essential when considering effectiveness of an engagement.
